Leon Steward: is originally from Baytown, Texas. Mr. Steward attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he earned a Bachelors in Music Composition and a Masters in Music Education. He is presently working in the San Antonio area where he teaches middle school band. He is also the music director for his church. Mr. Steward is a professional horn player who has performed with the Symphony of Southeast Texas, The Houston Symphonic Band, and The West Winds woodwind quintet. Mr. Steward has published many works and arrangements for concert bands, marching bands, ensembles, solos and choral ensembles. Influences include, Frank Zappa, Don Ellis, Francis McBeth, John Barnes Chance and Clifton Williams.

Kelly Bennette: A native of Groves, Texas Mr. Bennette attended Thomas Jefferson High School and then received his bachelor of music from Lamar University in Beaumont. Mr. Bennette has taught at many different levels of education and is presently involved in elementary music. He is an active tubist who has performed with the Symphony of Southeast Texas, and several other brass ensembles in the area.

Scott D. Johnson: Born in Brighton, Colorado, Scott D. Johnson has lived a well traveled life. Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of Oklahoma at Norman. He then earned a Master's degree in music from Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Scott presently teaches middle school band in Granbury, Texas, where he resides with his wife and two cats. Mr. Johnson's musical influences include, Gustav Holst, Anne McGinty, Francis McBeth, and Sergi Rachmaninoff.


Neil Quinn: A native of Vidor, Texas, Mr. Quinn presently resides in Groves, Texas, and teaches band in Sabine Pass. He attended The University of Houston where he performed with the wind ensemble under the direction of Eddie Green. Neil received his Bachelor's degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He is an active percussionist who has performed with The Symphony of Southeast Texas, The Beaumont Civic Opera, and the Lake Charles Symphony. Mr. Quinn is also an educational advisor for the Vic Firth company.
 

Keith Terrett:  a composer, arranger, instrumental teacher, and professional trumpet player born in London.  Keith joined the British Army at the age of fifteen, studying cornet at the Army band school in Bovington. After retiring from the army in 1990, Keith took up a position as 'Head of Instrumental Music' & 'Band Director'; to schools in the Cayman Islands, British West Indies. Mr. Terrett has also taught at the University of Paupa New Guinea, The United Kingdom, Kuwait City and Norway. During his career, he has performed with many artists and orchestras including Jesse Norman, Iona Brown, Engelbert Humperdink, London & BBC Concert & Symphony Orchestras and the Kneller Hall Band.  He studied conducting with Frank Renton, orchestration with Trevor Sharp, and harmony and composition with Professor Gordon Reynolds. Keith has studied with, and gained academic musical qualifications from the Royal Military School of Music, Open University, Trinity College of Music, Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, London College of Music, and the Bandsman's College of Music in Manchester.


John Ford:  a native of Portsmouth, VA, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music at Frederick College, and a of Master of Music Education from James Madison University. Mr. Ford taught instrumental music for 38 years with the last 23 being spent at the middle school level. He is presently retired and makes his home in Virginia where he is an active clinician and adjudicator. Mr. Ford has also been active as a performer and conductor of community bands.  He was one of the founding members, player and assistant conductor of the Tidewater Community Band in Portsmouth, VA, has played with the Stonewall Brigade Band in Staunton, VA, was a performer and substitute conductor with the Rhorsville (MD) Band and presently
conducts the Clarke County Community Band in Berryville, VA.
